Catch the Black is the first expansion in the Westeros cycle of the Game of Thrones Second Edition LCG. The cycle focuses on the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire. King Robert Baratheon rides north to meet his old friend Eddard Stark in Winterfell. Peace reigns on the western continent, but this apparent calm is not lasting: the seeds of unrest have already taken root, fueled by the ambitions of House Lannister, by the marriage of Daenerys Targaryen to a Dothraki Khal, and by the apparent murder of Jon Arryn. Conflicts between the great houses are looming on the horizon, and the nobles and ladies of Westeros begin the game for the throne. The Taking Black Chapter Pack contains 60 new cards (20 in triplicate) for Game of Thrones: The Card Game. These cards have been created to expand existing decks and make the Game of Thrones metagame more varied.
