With the Netherlands game board collection, Days of Wonder continues its successful series of game boards. In Ticket to Ride: Netherlands, a new mechanic of bridge tolls is introduced. When a player builds a bridge on a double track, they pay a toll to the bank in the form of bridge toll tokens. If another player later builds on the second track over this bridge, they must pay the first player a toll fee for the bridge reached, in the form of the bridge toll token they receive. At the end of the game, there are bonus points for the bridge toll tokens still held by the players. The game board can only be played in conjunction with Ticket to Ride, Ticket to Ride: Europe, or Ticket to Ride: Germany.
