Product details
The model is based on the work of the French narrow-gauge pioneer Paul Decauville (1846 - 1922), who developed his own narrow-gauge railway system consisting of tracks, cars, and locomotives starting in 1875. Due to their widespread use and long service life across various eras, this steam locomotive is universally suitable for many applications such as forest railways, brickworks, tourist railways, trams, in open-pit mining, and as military field railways. Today, four of these robust locomotives are still preserved in their original condition. One of them can be admired in operational condition at the Frankfurt Field Railway Museum. The vehicle from the early 20th century has a service weight of 6.5 tons and a power output of 20 HP. Characteristic features include the large water tanks, which provide the locomotive with a considerable operational range. Many details, such as the construction with an external frame, are perfectly realized in the model. The delicate driving rods are even fully movable. New larger cars for various transport purposes complement this new development, with the steam locomotive being able to pull all cars from the Busch field railway range.
