Kubb is a skill-based game with strategic elements. It symbolizes a battle in which two opposing groups fight for their king. In its current form, it has been played since around 1990 and is particularly popular in Sweden and Norway, but it is also becoming more common in German-speaking countries. Before the game begins, two teams are formed, each consisting of 1 to 6 players. The traditional playing field size is 5 by 8 meters, but this size can be freely chosen depending on the players' abilities. The area can be marked with boundary wooden pieces. Kubb can be played on various surfaces such as grass, sand, snow, or solid ground. Each side has five Kubbs placed about one meter apart, forming the baseline. The king stands in the center of the playing field. The two teams position themselves opposite each other on either side behind their respective baseline, which is formed by the placed Kubbs (baseline or base Kubbs). A game consists of several rounds. The team that starts the first round is determined by a draw. After that, the right to throw first alternates with each round. The king measures 25 cm.
