Gas turbine multiple unit series 602 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn. It consists of two power cars (one motorized) and six intermediate cars. The insufficient performance of the diesel-powered VT 11.5 (BR 601) led to the conversion of four power cars to gas turbine drive in 1971, with the most distinctive feature being the large air intakes in front of the driver's cab that supplied air to the turbine. Due to deficiencies, the operation of these trains became increasingly uneconomical, which is why the multiple units operating under the designation BR 602 were retired by the DB in 1978 and 1979. Only the power car 602 003 has been preserved for museum purposes and can now be found at the DB Museum in Nuremberg.
