On September 4, 2019, the Taycan made its debut as the first series production electric sports car from Porsche simultaneously on three continents. The first models of the new series were the Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo. At their launch, they were among the most powerful production models from the sports car manufacturer. From the outset, the Taycan models impressed with consistently sporty driving characteristics, short charging times thanks to 800-volt technology, and unrestricted everyday usability. The electric sports car has since received around 50 international awards, particularly in its main markets of Germany, the USA, the UK, and China.
