The newest member of the Vectron family - the Vectron Dual Mode - combines the advantages of a fully-fledged diesel locomotive with those of electric locomotives. Thanks to its powerful diesel drive and the equipment for using overhead lines, the locomotive can flexibly respond to traction requirements at any time. In cities and metropolitan areas, the issue of environmental impact is becoming increasingly important. The Vectron Dual Mode makes a significant contribution to sustainable freight transport. Currently, the locomotives are being used by MKB, Captrain, SETG, and Northrail/Paribus. DB Cargo has specifically ordered 146 Vectron Dual Modes to make transport more sustainable starting in 2023.
