These installations were used by the Wehrmacht to defend troops on the march against air attacks and to support advancing infantry. Initially, they were mounted on the special trailers "IF5" and Stoewer, BMW vehicles (Type Kfz 1) during the early stages of the war, and later also integrated into truck bodies and as fixed firing positions. A comprehensive restoration was carried out, involving complete disassembly, fault detection, restoration of damaged elements, and fabrication of missing parts (tarpaulin, crushed leather seat cushions, and partition wall coverings) according to the old technical standards. These towers are very rare; there is information about the existence of 10 such towers in varying conditions in private and museum collections. One is known to be in perfectly intact condition (Technical Museum, Germany), professionally restored, with the exception of the proposed.
