In the board game Catan: Starfarers by Kosmos, 3-4 players embark on a journey of discovery into space. The journey takes them in spaceships from their home to new planets. There, they explore resource-rich planetary systems and unknown trading stations. Players can equip their spaceships with additional engines and laser cannons, allowing them to move their ships faster and defend against space pirates. The original game, The Starfarers of Catan, released in 1999, is now presented in a revised version with new game pieces, illustrations, graphics, and a variable game board.
