Product details
Specifically developed for the Zillertal Railway by Gmeinder Lokomotivenfabrik GmbH, four diesel locomotives of the type D 75 BB-SE were delivered starting in 2004. They were designated D13 to D16. Three additional units were sent to the Pinzgauer Local Railway, where they were designated Vs81, Vs82, and Vs83. The last locomotive rolled out of Gmeinder's workshop in May 2012. The Vs81 was initially classified with ÖBB as series 2096 and designated as 2096 001-0, but it no longer operated in regular service and was taken over by Salzburg AG. In 2018, the D13 from the Zillertal Railway was sold to the Pinzgauer Local Railway and designated as Vs84 there. The locomotives, affectionately referred to as "Lupo" internally at the Zillertal Railway, are used for both passenger and freight trains as well as shunting operations. They feature two end cabs and a push-pull control system. If needed, they can be equipped with either meter-gauge or standard-gauge bogies. The locomotives have a power output of 746 kW (1,040 HP) and a permissible maximum speed of 80 km/h. For shunting operations, they are equipped with a radio remote control system.
