A game version of old adventure novels that continues to entertain Finland from early childhood. With a bit of luck, you can fly from one treasure to the next, with pockets full of money, but if you're unlucky, you'll encounter bandits and empty mines during your expeditions.

Essentially, the game is a dice and movement game, simple enough for players aged 4 and up, but equally entertaining for the whole family. Players travel through Africa in search of the famous diamond, the Star of Africa. The diamond is hidden under one of the turned-over game markers. In addition to the famous diamond, the markers can also reveal other jewels. These are worth some game money, but they do not win the game like the diamond does. The markers also contain less pleasant surprises like bandits.

The game was invented by Kari Mannerla and first published in 1951. It quickly became popular in Finland and has since been translated into 16 languages; over 4 million games have been sold internationally. After 60 years, the game remains popular – and almost unchanged. Aside from a few minor clarifications to the rules, this original version of the game is sold just as it was 60 years ago. The world has changed remarkably during this time, but the illustrations on the game board and markers remain unchanged and representative of the colonial era in which the game was created.
