A Christmas Story

Just before Christmas, Findus complains to Pettersson that Santa Claus has never visited them. He has also heard that one must write a wish list to receive gifts. So, the old man writes down what Findus wishes for. The little cat's biggest wish is for Santa Claus to come into their house. In the yard, Findus discovers footprints in the snow and wonders if they belong to Santa Claus. When he follows the tracks, he encounters a strange postman in the woods. Oddly enough, he knows about the wish list and that Findus wants to see Santa Claus. Pettersson has promised Findus that Santa Claus will come to their house. He comes up with an idea on how to fulfill this promise: he will invent and build an automatic Santa Claus. Findus is playing in the carpenter's shed with a Muckla and accidentally damages the old man's latest invention. He is so upset about this that Findus quickly disappears through a hole in the floor. Naturally, Pettersson soon worries about his cat and searches for him everywhere. Pettersson takes a break from work to spend some time with Findus. They go into the woods to fetch a Christmas tree. Along the way, they meet a young forest ranger. He is a skilled woodcarver and offers to carve a hundred Santa Clauses for Pettersson. Pettersson's Santa Claus machine is finished. Unfortunately, a little Muckla steals a gear from the machine and disappears with it. Findus, who knows the world of Mucklas well, retrieves it. Pettersson repairs the machine, and when he starts it up on Christmas Eve, unexpected and extremely mysterious things happen.
