With the PIKO BR 83.10 from the DR, there is now an operationally suitable mass-produced model of this extraordinary locomotive type. Reflecting the uniqueness of the prototype, the finely detailed PIKO model also presents itself as an outstanding locomotive. The distinctive locomotive in a two-domed design impresses with its excellent execution of the prototype proportions and features a multitude of added parts, including many fine lines, wind deflectors, bell, whistle, covers on the water boxes, generator, steps to the buffer beam, ladders, handrails, heating pipes, and sand pipes. The fine spoked wheels, the intricate drive mechanism, and the lovingly detailed cab interior make the locomotive an eye-catcher on the layout. Technically, the PIKO BR 83.10 is also up to date, equipped with cab lighting, chassis lighting, and an LED front signal. The powerful motor, combined with two installed traction tires, provides sufficient pulling power for all prototypical train compositions. The sound locomotives come factory-equipped with a PSD XP 5.1 S sound decoder and already include a smoke set. Brake hoses, couplers, and long protective pipes are included with the model.
