"The Mercedes-Benz -/8 was presented to its clientele in 1968, with the -/8 standing for the year of introduction, 1968. The very modern styled sedan replaced the tail fin in the Mercedes-Benz program, which had already been offered since 1959. As a 200, the vehicle produced 95 hp and reached a top speed of 165 kilometers per hour. More than 1.8 million units of the -/8 were produced until it ceased production in 1976."
