Especially old Märklin switches with double-coil drive sometimes require a strong "extra kick" to switch reliably. This switch amplifier helps with that. The power is temporarily stored in a capacitor and then delivered to the respective switch coil with a pulse and higher voltage via transistors. For a problematic switch, this switch amplifier can be easily integrated into the supply line without major modifications.

Two additional benefits: 1. Since the switch is not powered by the normal railway current, multiple switches can be operated simultaneously. The capacitors of the switch amplifiers charge with a small current between switching operations (approximately 1.5 seconds). 2. A small current is sufficient for switching itself, allowing for the use of sensitive micro switches. This reduces the risk of the switching contacts burning out. The module is fully assembled and tested for operation.
