WIKING has created a model builder's tribute to the Pullman generation, prominently featuring the Mercedes-Benz LP 333 with a double front axle. The "Millipede" from Mercedes-Benz marks the beginning of the logistical appreciation for front-steering trucks, which at the time lagged far behind conventional models. As early as the 1960s, traditional model builders had opted solely for the Pullman tractor with a short cabin. In 2019, WIKING built upon historical patterns from the legendary model builder Alfred Kedzierski and miniaturized the "Millipede" with a long-distance cabin. Mercedes-Benz had developed the unusual truck with a double front axle at the end of the 1950s as a stopgap solution due to the Seebohm laws. Only with the third axle was it possible to create a truck with a permissible total weight of 16 tons. In 1960, the permissible total weight for two-axle trucks was increased from 12 to 16 tons. Therefore, the LP 333 was only produced from 1958 to 1961, with a total of 1,833 vehicles made, 354 of which were produced in the last year.
