Not at all... the pillow is inflated with 3 big breaths. I've been using the cushion for over 3 years now and it's just great! Very high quality workmanship... very soft and comfortable material and at the same time very robust, so that it is not immediately punctured by the smallest sharp object (e.g. a small branch/branch in a meadow).
