Ueber Qualität und Support müssen wir bei Synology nicht diskutieren, da vergebe ich 5 von 5 Sternen!
Einen kleinen Dämpfer musste ich dennoch hinnehmen, da das Gerät noch so neu ist, dass derzeit ausschliesslich Synology Festplatten 100% kompatibel sind.
Meine dazugekauften "WD Red Plus" werden im Storage Manager derzeit noch als "unverified" angezeigt, dennoch funktioniert soweit alles, was ich getestet hatte, ohne Einschränkungen und Vorkommnisse. Lediglich der generell in orange angezeigte Systemstatus mit dem "Warning" Hinweis ist etwas irritierend für mich.
Aber es wird wohl nicht lange dauern, bis Fremd-HDDs auch 100% unterstützt werden, bis dahin muss ich mit der Warnung leben.
Pro
- noch schneller als der Vorgänger
- noch mehr Arbeitsspeicher als der Vorgänger
Contra
- fast doppelt so teuer wie die immer noch erhältliche DS1821+
- _noch_ nicht kompatibel mit Standard HDDs wie z.B. WD etc
I would not expect Synology to add any not Synology branded disc to verified list this is the business model not lack of time to verify something
Im sure they will, I always used the '+' models in the past, and all of them accepted non-syno HDDs. But in this case I assume I just buyed it a little bit too early as only the very first DSM update was provided by Syno since the model has been released.
Beside this, everything is working well so far, except the fact I still see the warnings due to non-supported disks.
If you look for example to the compatibility list of the 1621xs+, you will find a lot of non-syno drives which are compatible:

SHR und SHR-2 funktionieren out of the box nicht. Kann man jedoch mit einem script ändern und schon läuft es;)
Gibt eine einfache Lösung für dieses Problem: "support_disk_compatibility" auf "no" stellen.

Habe mir das NAS auch via Digitec gekauft, betreibe es mit 4 WD red 18TB Platten und bin happy damit. :)
