BTS x Samsung: a Samsung Galaxy S20+ for #btsarmy
Aside from Samsung, BTS is without doubt South Korea's most interesting export. This KPop group is teaming up with the famous chaebol to present a Galaxy phone and headphones in an exclusive design bearing its effigy.
So the release of a purple Samsung Galaxy S20 with BTS branding is imminent.
A purple phone
The video shows the members of the seven-piece KPop band with purple hearts in their hands. Surprisingly, these hearts are then not a design element of the phone. Instead of an elaborate design, Samsung decided to colour the back of the phone purple, if the photo with the band members and their phones is anything to go by.
The BTS-branded Samsung Galaxy S20+ packs an Exynos 990 system-on-a-chip, a dedicated neural processing unit - the so-called Neural Processing Unit - and 12GB of DDR5 RAM, enabling fast data access and battery saving. Other features? A 120 Hertz screen, three photo modules and a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor.
Purple Galaxy Buds earphones
The case is purple with the band logo and heart, the earphones are black with a purple touch surface. The left earphone has the band logo printed at the top, the right has a heart.
And a wireless charger will also be making its appearance.
The phone, charger and headphones are limited editions. A commercial launch in Switzerland is not yet known and, to my knowledge, not even planned.
The official announcement of the BTS edition is scheduled for 19 June.
