MSI pushes Apple out of first place – Creator 15 now has the biggest battery

Until recently, it has been the MacBook Pro 16 with the largest notebook battery. Apple equipped its laptop with a generous 99.8Wh. But now MSI has launched the Creator 15 with a whopping 99.9 Wh.

The race for the biggest battery isn’t really a thing. Or if it ever was, MSI has just crossed the finishing line. After all, there are capacity limits that neither Apple nor MSI nor anyone else wants to cross. And we’re not talking physical limits. The reason why the end of the line has been reached lies in the transport industry. If a manufacturer were to install more than 100 Wh, the devices would no longer be allowed to be carried by passengers boarding a flight. This is due to the restrictions for lithium-ion batteries.

The device that has just broken the world’s battery record is the Creator 15. Apart from its huge 99.9 Wh 4-cell battery, MSI has equipped this device with an Intel Core i7-10875H, up to 64 GB RAM and the choice between Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, RTX 2060, RTX 2070 Max-Q, RTX 2070 SUPER Max-Q or RTX 2080 SUPER Max-Q. Its 15.6-inch display is available in with or without a touchscreen and with UHD resolution. Despite the large battery, the device only weighs 2.1 kg and is 19.8 mm at its thickest part.

The 99.9 Wh battery should give the Creator 15 a runtime of up to nine hours. Whether this is the case remains to be seen. But if it only had a 99.8 Wh battery like the MacBook Pro 16, it would probably run out of juice after eight hours, 59 minutes and 27 seconds.

So, as you can see, the extra 0.1 Wh are a real lifesaver.

I find my muse in everything. When I don’t, I draw inspiration from daydreaming. After all, if you dream, you don’t sleep through life.
