These are the best robot hoovers on the market
From 5-star vacuum cleaners to the Community's insider tip: I'll introduce you to the best robotic vacuum cleaners currently available and tell you what will be even better next year.
I have extensively tested around a dozen robot hoovers in the last twelve months. And looked at many more models, often following tips from the Community. Which are currently the best models? Which ones are popular with users? You can find the big overview here.
The best overall package: Dreame Aqua 10 Ultra Roller Complete
Never before has a robot taken so much cleaning work off my hands as the current top model from Dreame. In everyday life, I let it run two or three times a week in fully automatic mode and the floor was clean. It only vacuumed the bath rug automatically and didn't wet it like other test devices.

The mop roller, which is automatically supplied with water and cleaned directly in the robot, ensures even better results than the rotating, round mops used in the previous models. For me, this is the perfect all-round model, although it has a high recommended retail price. The model is now sometimes available for less than 1000 francs, making the Aqua 10 Ultra Roller Complete an attractive option in terms of price.
I don't want to hide the fact that the Community is divided. Many have had similarly good experiences, while others are clearly critical. For example, defective base stations that leak water are mentioned. Or individual problems such as high thresholds that the robot can't manage even though they are within the official range.

The twin is also good: Mova Z60 Ultra Roller Complete
The top model from Mova performed almost as well as the top model from Dreame in my test. This is not surprising for two reasons: Mova is a subsidiary brand of Dreame, and the Mova Z60 Ultra Roller Complete is a twin of the Dreame Aqua 10 Ultra Roller Complete - identical in many areas, very similar in others.
On the data sheet, the Mova has slightly less power, but I find the app a little more intuitive. I hardly noticed any difference in everyday use. So you can choose the model that is currently cheaper - or the one you like better. Incidentally, the Community rating is slightly better than that of Dreame's twin.
The Community tip: Xiaomi X20 Pro
No other robot hoover is rated as highly as the entry-level model from Xiaomi.
The X20 Pro receives five stars in 96 per cent of reviews, and even the few reviews with four stars are consistently positive. Points of criticism such as the suction speed or the cumbersome adjustment of the suction areas are not killer criteria.
Despite its low price, the X20 Pro offers all the robot hoover basics. In other words, it has mops that are cleaned in the base station and dried with hot air. It scans the home with a laser and recognises obstacles. However, it lacks features that more expensive models offer: For example, neither brushes nor mops can be extended to the side to clean edges and corners. The Xiaomi robot hoover cannot climb either. The suction power of 7000 pascals is also significantly lower than the 20,000 pascals that are common today.
The bestseller 2025: Dreame X50 Ultra Complete
No other robot has sold better in our shop this year than Dreame's top model from the spring. Although the device has already received a successor in the form of the Aqua 10 mentioned above, it is still very popular. This is certainly also due to the fact that it costs hundreds of francs less than when it was launched in February.
In terms of quality, the X50 continues to offer excellent cleaning and a convincing complete package. It also climbs quite reliably over thresholds of around three to four centimetres. The precise navigation is just as impressive as the automatic cleaning and drying of the mops.

Good and inexpensive: Ecovacs X9 Pro Omni
The top model launched by Ecovacs in the summer is not flawless, but it is excellent overall - and at a favourable price: there is hardly any other model that offers the new mopping technology for less money. Using the roller instead of mops actually makes it easier to mop the floor.
The simple installation, clear app and precise navigation were impressive when tested. Like other models with rollers, the X9 Pro Omni cleans rather slowly and does not have a climbing function. The majority of the Community is of the same opinion and awards four or five stars, although some also report problems with the device, for example with small obstacles.
The quiet classic: Roborock Qrevo Curv
The Qrevo Curv was launched on the market around a year ago. With its rounded base station, it is more elegant than most of its competitors and - together with the Roborock Saros 10 - it is still the quietest robot tested.
The Curv was the first model that could overcome higher thresholds - making it a modern classic. One of the biggest criticisms no longer applies: the price has fallen significantly.
The precise navigation and swivelling brushes and mops were also convincing when tested. The Community awarded the appliance four and a half stars out of five and praised its high suction power and great autonomy, among other things.
Roborock has already launched a successor on the market: the Qrevo Curv 2 Pro offers more suction power and is two centimetres flatter. This can be crucial if you have furniture with little ground clearance. The manufacturer has also improved the navigation and climbing capabilities, and obstacle detection should also be more precise. However, the successor is significantly more expensive. Unfortunately, Roborock is not officially bringing it to Switzerland, but you can order imported devices from us.

What does the future hold for robot hoovers?
The big topic next year will be new models that can climb stairs. A few prototypes were already on show at the IFA tech fair in Berlin in September - from Eufy, Mova and Dreame. Of course, they are only relevant if you live in a maisonette flat or a house and want to clean all floors with a single vacuum cleaner.
More exciting for the general public might be the concept of a robot hoover, also shown in Berlin, which uses its gripper arm to vacuum in gaps between furniture that the robot itself cannot reach.
Self-cleaning rollers and rollers are also likely to become standard for mopping from 2026 - not only in the top models, but also in cheaper variants. This should significantly increase the cleaning quality; in return, manufacturers will have to develop new functions for the expensive flagship models.
A final free tip: If you tend to forget to empty the waste water, be sure to pour a little baking soda or dental rinse into the waste water tank to delay the formation of odours.
