Xiaomi Pad 6 and 6 Pro with Snapdragon processor unveiled
Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi presents its latest tablet in two versions. With Snapdragon processors, plenty of storage space and in bright colours. New versions of the keyboard cover and stylus are now also available.
Xiaomi has unveiled a new version of its tablet along with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone and the Smart Band 8. Like its predecessor, the Xiaomi Pad 6 is available as a basic and Pro model. They both have an 11-inch display, but the 6 Pro scores with more powerful hardware.
11-inch display with Dolby Vision
The two tablets each have an 11-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2.8K (2880 × 1800 pixels). The maximum refresh rate is 144 hertz. Both models also support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Promising performance: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
The Pro model of Xiaomi's tablet has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 installed. Behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, this is the most powerful from Qualcomm. The basic model comes with a mid-range chip: the Snapdragon 870. You can get it with six or eight gigabytes of RAM and the Pro model with eight or twelve.
The Pro version comes with 128, 256 or 512 gigabytes of internal memory. The basic version has either 128 or 256 gigabytes of memory. The in-house MIUI Pad 14 (based on Android) is used as the operating system.
With its processor/memory combination, the Pro model is suitable for more computing-intensive employees, such as gaming and photo retouching. The basic model also has nothing to hide, but is more suitable for anyone who primarily surfs and watches films.
Durable: up to 8840 mAh battery
The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro comes with an 8600 mAh battery and a 67 watt power supply unit. The Pad 6 gets a slightly larger battery with 8840 mAh, but only a 33 watt power supply. Xiaomi promises up to 50 days on standby for the tablets.
The benefits are debatable: the camera
The selfie camera has 20 megapixels and is practical for video calls. The dual main camera has 50 megapixels. However, taking photos with a tablet is rather awkward. That's why Xiaomi doesn't go into any more detail about the cameras.

Matching accessories: keyboard cover and stylus
The keyboard cover has a touchpad and NFC transfer for files. The touch pen belongs to the second generation and lasts 150 hours without charging.

Prices in China
Xiaomi sells the Pad 6 in its home country from 1999 yuan with 128 gigabytes of memory and six gigabytes of RAM. That's the equivalent of around 260 francs or euros. The Pad 6 Pro is available in China from 2499 yuan. This is how much the tablet with 128/8 memory configuration costs. That's around 326 francs/euro.
You can choose between the colours blue, black and champagne - a pink-tinted white. Xiaomi has not yet announced any specific details about the European launch. The Xiaomi Pad 5 in the basic version made it this far last year.
