ABB installation relays E297 are electromagnetically operated miniature relays with a width of 18 mm (1 module unit). These installation relays can be used to design a reliable load control system. Typically, the installation relays are used with a control switch (maintained contact) in applications where, for example, lighting, air conditioning, a fan, or similar devices need to be controlled. The device remains in its set position as long as the control voltage is applied to the coil. If the control voltage is interrupted, the installation relay always returns to its rest position (off state). Due to their optimal switching performance, they are also suitable for applications in industrial environments and in situations where it is necessary to maintain control over higher power loads (such as multiple lighting groups). The use of an optimized coil (low power loss = lower operating temperature) ensures trouble-free and safe operation in electrical distribution boards. The quiet switching sounds and the hum-free magnetic system also justify their use in public buildings and private households. Depending on the type, the installation relays can be controlled with common AC/DC control voltages and are designed for a rated current of 16 A.
