The Alphacool fan shroud optimizes airflow between the fan and the radiator's cooling fins to enhance cooling performance. Additionally, it decouples the fans, resulting in a significant reduction in noise levels.

Airflow Optimization: When the fan is directly mounted on the radiator, a dead spot forms beneath the fan hub. There is also minimal air movement through the cooling fins at the corners of the radiator that are not directly covered by the fan blades. By installing the fan shroud, the distance between the fan blades and the radiator is increased. This allows an air cushion to build up in this gap. The dead area beneath the fan hub is eliminated, and the corners of the radiator receive better airflow. This is particularly beneficial for silent fans operating at low speeds, as it noticeably improves cooling performance.

Decoupling and Noise Reduction: The soft fan shrouds largely decouple the fans from the radiator frame. As a result, very few vibrations are transmitted, and the noise level is reduced. The increased distance of the fans from the cooling fins also leads to less direct air turbulence at the edges of the fan and radiator fins, further contributing to a quieter environment.
