The costs of working on a gaming PC
by Samuel Buchmann
The processor, or CPU for short, is the heart of a computer. It is one of the most important components of a PC, as all commands for processing data and controlling the processing sequences run via the processor. The graphics processor of a graphics card, for example, can relieve the main processor by processing information itself.
The decisive factor in choosing a CPU is the processor family. The two leading brands in the field of processors are Intel and AMD. When making your purchase decision, also pay attention to the processor socket. It determines whether the processor is compatible with your mainboard. By further limiting the processor clock frequency (specified in GHz), the number of processor cores and the support of Hyper-Threading, you can find the right CPU for you.
Which CPU you need depends on what you use your PC for. If you only use the most common programmes such as office applications or browsers, a processor with fewer cores is sufficient. In contrast, there are also applications that work multi-treathed and use all available cores at the same time, whereby the load is better distributed by a higher number of cores.
In our online shop you will find CPUs for every area of application, regardless of whether you are a beginner or a high-end user. We also try to include the very latest processors in our range as quickly as possible.
