APC power distribution units with metering by outlet optimise energy usage and protect circuits through measurement data collection at each outlet. Current measurements enable real-time remote monitoring of connected loads. Metered by outlet rack PDUs provide data on energy consumption, allowing data centre managers to make informed decisions regarding load distribution and the appropriate sizing of IT environments, thereby reducing overall operating costs. The devices feature numerous functions and characteristics: monitoring of active power, connection for temperature/humidity sensors, locking IEC sockets, and ultra-flat circuit breakers. Configuration of the metered by outlet rack PDUs is done via a secure web connection or SNMP or telnet interface. As complementary management solutions, APC platforms for central management such as InfraStruxure Central, operations, capacity, and energy efficiency are available.
