Die werkseitige Übertaktung sorgt dafür, dass die Asus Geforce GTX 980 Strix DC2OC die ohnehin extrem guten Performance-Werte der Referenz-GTX-980 noch toppen kann. Dabei verbraucht die Karte zwar etwas mehr Strom, bleibt durch das effektiv arbeitende Kühlsystem aber auch unter Last fast unhörbar und lässt durch die relativ niedrigen Chiptemperaturen noch Spielraum für weitere Übertaktungsversuche.

Die Leistung an sich der Karte ist mehr als zufriedenstellend denn auch aktuelle Games laufen damit sehr flüssig. Allerdings kann das Modell Spitzen nicht abfangen da der Boost zu schwach ist. Dennoch eine gute Grafikkarte, deren Garantiezeit 3 Jahre beträgt, was kundenfreundlich ist.
