BASF Ultrafuse has developed a new polymer-based filament that opens up new possibilities in the field of demanding 3D printing. PAHT CF15 contains 15% carbon fiber reinforcement, which allows for higher strength and temperature resistance. Polyamide (also known as nylon) is a thermoplastic material that has a wide range of applications across various industries. In this specific composition, the material achieves increased dimensional stability, remaining resistant to permanent loads of up to 150°C. Under intermittent peak loads, the material can withstand even 180°C. The 15% carbon fiber content provides pronounced strength and rigidity. The material is easy to print and can even be combined with water-soluble support material. When using water-soluble support material with PAHT, please ensure that the temperature difference between the two materials is kept to a minimum. PAHT CF15 is an abrasive material. For a smooth printing process, you will need a hardened nozzle. We recommend, for example, the Ruby Nozzle for the Ultimaker 2+ and the CC Red Printcore for the Ultimaker S3 and S5. Please ensure to use a minimum layer height of 0.2 mm and a clean glass plate for printing. Additionally, a hardened nozzle or a gemstone nozzle is required. Note: Today's filaments from BASF Ultrafuse were sold under the brand name Innofil3D until the end of 2019. The Dutch manufacturer was previously acquired by the German chemical company BASF. As part of the acquisition, the filaments were renamed and the packaging changed. The printing material itself remains the same high-quality filament as before.
