Power over Ethernet (PoE). With Power over Ethernet, you can power compatible devices through the network cable. This significantly reduces cabling efforts for end devices such as wireless access points, IP phones, and IP cameras, while also allowing for high flexibility in placing these devices.

802.3at PoE. The IEEE 802.3at standard provides a maximum of 25.4 Watts of power per PoE port with a voltage of up to 50 volts. The standard assumes that after line losses, 21.90 Watts of usable power remains or can be drawn to avoid exceeding the maximum power output. For PoE, a Cat5e/6 cable with a maximum length of 100 meters is recommended.
