The Dold & Söhne Under-voltage Relay IL9071.12 3/N AC400V is designed to monitor AC and three-phase networks for under-voltage, asymmetry, or phase failure, and to activate emergency lighting according to DIN VDE 0108. It is also suitable for neutral conductor monitoring in three-phase networks. In three-phase systems with a neutral conductor, not only three-phase symmetrical loads but also certain single-phase loads and control circuits are often connected to the neutral conductor. If there is a break in the neutral conductor in such a system, the unsymmetrical load can lead to dangerous voltage imbalances relative to the disconnected neutral conductor. This can result in single-phase connected devices being destroyed by overvoltages or becoming non-functional due to undervoltages, even though no fuse has blown. The IL 9071 detects such network conditions and can immediately shut down the system.
