Product details
The mechanical gaming keyboard Ducky One 3 has been designed to provide you with a top-notch typing experience. Crafted with high-quality materials and optimized for quick response times, the Ducky One 3 offers gamers and keyboard enthusiasts a luxurious feel while typing. Additionally, the switches are not soldered but mounted on sockets, allowing for easy and solder-free replacement.
The version of the Ducky One 3 offered here is in a full-size form factor. It features the complete range of keys, including a number pad, function keys, and arrow keys. This makes it suitable for both gaming and office applications, although it does require a significant amount of desk space.
With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its design philosophy QUACK Mechanics. Ducky considers four essential aspects that are crucial for the typing experience: the keycaps, the housing, the sound, and the stabilizers. Therefore, almost all variants of the Ducky One 3 come with high-quality PBT keycaps. This partially crystalline plastic is particularly favored by keyboard modders due to its resistance to wear. Ducky molds the keycaps from two layers of plastic, ensuring that the key labeling remains highly legible. The keycaps do not develop the typical shine that other plastics acquire through extensive use, allowing the keyboard to maintain its appealing appearance for a long time.
A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors, relieving wrist strain in combination with the three-step adjustable feet. To enhance the sound and typing feel, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber composites and selected the suitable variant for the Q-Bounce pad. This is combined with an additional layer of EVA foam to effectively dampen resonances during typing and hard keystrokes.
