The EK-Quantum Vector Strix RTX 3080/3090 Active Backplate comes with a modern terminal that replaces the standard terminal supplied with the Vector water block, connecting the water block and the Vector Active Backplate into a single unit. This way, the entire setup requires only one inlet and one outlet, eliminating unnecessary additional tubing and reducing clutter. It is the ultimate aesthetic and high-performance solution, where your GPU is enclosed between two water blocks, allowing for maximum cooling.

The Vector Active Backplate directly cools the PCB hotspots located on the back of the GPU core and the VRM (Voltage Regulation Module). In the RX 3090, the VRAM on the back is cooled, while in the RTX 3080, the PCB around the front-side VRAM is cooled. Coolant is routed over all these critical areas.

These active backplates feature a fin array with 8 wide channels, allowing for very low flow restriction. This, in turn, enables overall lower temperatures while the active backplate provides more than enough surface area for heat transfer.

The base of this concealed active backplate is made from nickel-plated electrolytic copper, CNC-machined, while the top is made from durable black POM-acetal, also CNC-machined. The rest of the backplate is made from anodized aluminum and does not come into contact with the liquid. These Vector Active Backplates also feature acetal connectors that match the top cover. The waterproof seal is ensured by high-quality EPDM O-rings.
