The GoPro HERO9 Black is the best action cam from GoPro to date. The image stabilisation works very well, the longer battery life is a plus point and the front monitor is a useful addition. However, the price is steep.
The GoPro Hero9 Black is still convincing in the CHIP test lab in 2022. The action cam has two displays for image control in front of and behind the camera, a maximum video resolution of 5K and an overall good battery life. The GoPro Hero9 Black is currently the GoPro action cam with the best price-performance ratio.

The Hero9 is not a new milestone, but it is a touch better than its predecessor and clearly the best action cam currently available. The video quality is as good as usual, the image stabiliser is excellent and the battery life is slightly longer. Owners of a Hero8 or Hero7 don't necessarily have to upgrade.
