The Profibus Master Simulator is a simple testing tool for the commissioning and testing of Profibus devices. The user-friendly PC program runs on Windows and tests the functions of field devices via Profibus, such as the connected pneumatic systems of valves or the correct operation of I/O modules. The Master Simulator can be used both for on-site commissioning and for testing the Profibus interface in series production. It is a cost-effective alternative to a Profibus PC card or a PLC. The simulator is available in DP or DPV1 versions.

The automatic participant identification allows for the addressing of almost all commercially available Profibus-DP devices. Commissioning is also possible without a GSD file. This allows a Profibus-DP slave to be gradually commissioned, enabling the reading of input data or the targeted writing of output data afterward. The Master Simulator has proven to be particularly effective during troubleshooting and commissioning, where the appropriate GSD files from individual manufacturers are often unavailable. The Master Simulator also supports the assignment of Profibus participant addresses over the bus.
