Do you need a cost-effective controller that provides quick access to data on internal server drives without occupying a PCIe slot? The HP H240ar Smart Host Bus Adapter comes in a flexible Smart-SAS-HBA form factor, delivering reliable, high-performance SAS connections to the data on internal server drives. The adapter is supported on selected Gen9 servers and offers eight internal physical connections as well as 12 Gbit/s SAS performance.

The H240ar Smart Host Bus Adapter can operate flexibly in HBA mode or in simple RAID mode. When operating in simple RAID mode, the adapter provides RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 5 with optional HP Secure Encryption features.

Unlike HP Smart Array controllers, the H240ar does not offer acceleration and does not support cache modules.
