Der Linksys EA8500 peitschte Daten mit bis zu 714 Mbps durchs ac-WLAN. Schade nur, dass die Reichweite so gering wie bei anderen Routern ist. Zudem konnte die MIMO-Technik im Test nicht überzeugen. Auch ohne diese Technik waren einige andere Testkandidaten schneller im heimischen Netzwerk unterwegs. Praktisch: Festplatten können am Linksys auch per eSATA andocken.

Auch wenn hier dem Router ebenfalls wie dem Konkurrenten von Netgear die Telefonfeatures fehlen, macht der Linksys bei der Datenraten speziell auf kurzen Distanzen einen tollen Job. Auch seien Funktionen innerhalb des Heimnetzes sind gut, wobei der Nutzer auch eine Festplatte via eSATA Port mit dem Router verbinden kann...
