Bei der Bedienung zeigt sich die Coolpix S02 als eine schlechte Wahl, ebenso bei der Aufnahme von Videos. Weiterhin ist der verbaute Blitz schwach, das Display ist ebenso nur durchschnittlich. Auch die Fotoaufnahme ist nur mittelmäßig.
Mit der Coolpix S02 hat Nikon eine außergewöhnliche Kamera im Sortiment: Sie ist kleiner als eine Kreditkarte, bietet die wichtigsten Funktionen und fertigt gute Bilder. Das alles macht die S02 zur idealen Kamera, die man immer dabei hat.
Dass die sehr kompakte Kamera keinerlei Höchstleistungen erbringt, sollte klar sein. Dennoch ist sie eine sehr kleine und flache Digicam, die gute Fotos schießen kann. Dabei ist sie in jeder noch so kleinen Hosentasche immer mit dabei und ist auch sehr einfach zu bedienen.
