- Speech intelligibility
- Wide sound image (surround)
- Virtual height channels leave much to be desired
- BT only with SBC codec
"Real" Dolby Atmos or DTS X sound at a budget price will probably remain a dream for a while yet. However, if you don't want to do without room-filling cinema sound and are looking for an affordable soundbar/subwoofer combination with excellent speech intelligibility and a lot of power, the Panasonic SC-HTB600 will undoubtedly give you a lot of pleasure until then.

For a market price of around 440 euros, the buyer gets a neatly finished soundbar with a wireless subwoofer. To be well prepared for the future, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X playback is integrated. However, the SC-HTB600 does not have top firing speakers on the top side, but the whole thing is done in a virtual way...

- good treble effects
- Detail reproduction
- eARC
- Design
- Operation with FB partly awkward
- No WLAN
If you're on a budget but still want immersive sound, Panasonic's SC-HTB600 is a good choice. Despite the lack of upfiring speakers, the 2.1 setup conjures up amazingly good 3D effects in the living room and scores with good detail reproduction. A small drop of bitterness: WLAN is unfortunately not on board.

- Subwoofer included
- Support for Dolby Atmos and DTS (Virtual):X
- Bluetooth
- Wall bracket included
- No WLAN
- No NFC
