LRDIMM memory is recommended when large memory capacities are to be achieved. RDIMM memory modules cannot be mixed with LRDIMM memory. If a memory upgrade is to be made with the existing RAM, it must be checked which memory technology (RDIMM / LRDIMM) is present. When using a multiprocessor system, memory slots should always be populated identically for each CPU. Memory slots without a processor present must not be populated. A higher memory clock of the memory module automatically adjusts to the memory clock specified by the system. This can especially be the case with larger capacities.
