LRDIMM memory is recommended for achieving large memory capacities. RDIMM memory modules cannot be mixed with LRDIMM memory. If a memory upgrade is to be performed with the existing RAM, it must be checked which memory technology (RDIMM / LRDIMM) is currently in use. Memory slots without a processor present must not be populated. A higher memory clock speed of the memory module will automatically adjust to the memory clock speed set by the system. This can particularly be the case with larger capacities. When using 4Rank (4Rx..) RDIMM memory, only 2 out of 3 memory slots per memory channel can be occupied.
