Ah, now I understand your concern! So going via the mains is a very good idea, it works easily and quickly! I bought a system from DEVOLO 10 years ago (for exactly the same reason). It works great!

I did not configure it myself. A friend had to do it for me. In general, I'm not very good at configuring new devices and would never have dared to even try. Whether I have the best setup or not, I can't say. But it works very well. Never had any problems. The friend who did it knows about such things and for him it was not difficult, as far as I know. That's all I can say about it.

If it's just a router from UPC, then sure. However, I believe that the model described by UPC is a modem, which must then be able to operate in bridge mode to control the ASUS router. If this is not possible, it should be replaced free of charge by UPC. See also an article in PC Tip from the last few months.
