With laser printers like the HP Color LaserJet Pro M479fdw, colours are less likely to dry out, unlike inkjet printers. Here are some reasons why this is not a major problem: - Laser printers use toner, which is in solid form, not liquid form like ink. Toner does not dry out when the printer is not in use. - The colour toners in laser printers remain stable over long periods of time and retain their print quality as long as they are stored and used properly. However, there are some potential problems that can occur if the printer is not used for a long period of time, such as dust build-up in the laser unit, which can affect print quality. However, these can be remedied by cleaning the printer. Overall, it should not be a problem if you do not print in colour for 2 months.

Hello Christoph The cartridges are not compatible. I don't know about the tray. Although the printers look the same on the outside, I have no idea whether it really fits on the new printer. Why don't you ask HP directly: +41 43 547 97 85

If I am correct, this is the country code #BAZ for the product number. The printer is the same, if necessary with country-specific characteristics. Furthermore, this is an "old model" that may be discontinued from the HP range. I think this is more or less the successor. HP 4302dw Color LaserJet Pro.

I can't compare them because I don't know the two devices. But yes, scanning with the HP via the automatic feeder is often crooked, I can confirm that. What I like about the HP is that when the toner runs out, a warning message appears, but printing is not made impossible. The user decides when the printout looks too faded and the toner needs to be replaced. (My OKI printer simply locked up - even if there was still toner left).

I am not familiar with this model, but I had an MFP M476dw and could not print if a cartridge was empty. I would recommend the Brother MFC-L3770CDW which has a "reset-toner" procedure that greatly extends the print time and allows you to print even if a cartridge is empty. Enjoy!
