Ciao I've been using a LaCie d2 Professional (20 TB) for a month now, so I can't say much about its longevity yet. But what impressed me was the fast transfer rate when I had to shovel over the data from the old LaCie BigBloc!

Dealers in Switzerland are legally obliged to supply you with a Swiss power plug with the product, and optionally to include a certified adapter free of charge. If this is missing from the delivery (as in my case), you can request a cable or adapter via a support request.

In this configuration, both partitions are mirrored, i.e. HD1 partition 1 with 2 TB and partition 2 with 6 TB = HD2 partition 1 with 2 TB and partition 2 with 6 TB. Works fine for me with 3 TB / 5 TB, Apple Time Machine goes to the 3 TB partition and is thus limited in the maximum size, i.e. does not fill the 2big endlessly. Tip - pay attention to the correct formatting from the beginning, depending on the intended use. Hope this helps.

That is not true. However, it only makes sense with a Thunderbolt 3 cable (50-200cm). This makes it so fast that you can edit 'normal' 4K videos externally. I have a 2nd HD in the loop, which is connected via another Thunderbolt 3 cable (note not USB-C, so it is, but the arrow for Thunderbolt must be on it).

Hello, both Thunderbolt (3 + 2) cables were included, so I was able to connect the LaCIE 2big to my iMac 2015 without any problems. Unfortunately, there was no suitable power cable for Switzerland, but many others which I was allowed to dispose of.

Works perfectly under OSCatalina 10.15.1 - new iMac set up again with recovery, everything OK - but I reset iMac to factory settings (crashes in eMail and Final Cut) - reinstalled PRG and transferred data from the LaCie with Time Machine - then it was really perfect. The LaCie 2big has done everything perfectly and is always in continuous operation - I would buy again at any time.

Hello The main difference is that the new version officially supports larger disks, currently up to 28TB, and has a Thunderbolt 3. If you use a Thunderbolt connection, the new one is faster, but this is probably only due to the larger disks.
