Doesn't seem to be the case. Unless you are able to clone the disk so that the OS is on it. You probably won't find an SSD with 6TB ;) The d2 is called desktop storage by LaCie and can therefore only be used with a power supply.

The USB 3 cable is approx. 1 m long. I assume you mean OS Catalina? Yes, it works perfectly.
Thunderbolt also transmits power. So simply plug in thunderbolt and you're done.

Yes, you can connect them, but 2 different devices are displayed as if they were plugged in separately.
This will ensure and may impact throughput by 10 or 15% but it should not have a significant impact if everything is on thunderbolt 3

Hello Here would be an adapter: Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to (Thunderbolt 2) as long as a suitable file format is available, it should work, even with daisy-chaining. Greetings
