The DSC9S soundbar is officially designed for the C-Series OLED evo C2, C3 and C4 and comes with a special Synergy Bracket developed for these models. There is no explicit compatibility specification for the OLED C5 from 2018, but in principle the soundbar works with any TV that has HDMI ARC/eARC or optical output. However, the special bracket only fits the models mentioned. If you are using the OLED C5 from 2018, the soundbar is compatible as long as you connect it via HDMI or optical. The Synergy bracket is not intended for your model.

The LG SC9S soundbar is compatible with the C4 series of LG OLED TVs. The exclusive LG OLED Synergy Bracket, which is supplied with the soundbar, is specially designed for the 55", 65" and 77" OLED evo C2, C3 and C4 models.

The LG DSC9S soundbar is primarily designed for operation with the wireless subwoofer to achieve the full sound potential. However, it is technically possible to operate the soundbar without the subwoofer. If you use the soundbar without the subwoofer, most of the functions will still work, including the upfiring speakers and the AI sound processors. However, the "Wow Orchestra" feature, which is part of the comprehensive sound system, will not be fully utilised as it relies on the synergy between the soundbar's speakers and the subwoofer. Without the subwoofer, you will not fully experience the deep bass and spatial sound distribution that the "Wow Orchestra" offers.

Today I would choose a soundbar with rear speakers from LG - hindsight is wiser ;-). About a year ago, I couldn't order the rear speakers individually from digitec, so I ordered them from Amazon.de. The model was LG SPQ8-S wireless rear speakers (140 watts) for the LG soundbars DS90QY & DS80QY, Dark Steel Silver [model year 2022]. plus 2 speaker stands. It works perfectly.

Hello hello:-). I had the same concerns. But then I dared to order the rear speakers and it was the best decision. They are compatible and complement the sound wonderfully. A clear recommendation to buy :-). Setuo was easy with the WiFi box. Lg :-)
