Which speakers / loudspeakers do you use and which are compatible? The Marantz NR1510 only has 50 watts of power at 8 ohms. You can hardly find any speakers for it. An amplifier should always have MORE power than the connected speakers! We recommend 1.5 - 2 x more power. I have just destroyed my Denon AV receiver after about 10 years because I have been running 150 watt floorstanding speakers on two 100 W channels for 10 years. Both front channels are now dead as a doornail (burnt out). Sometimes there is still a small pip. That's it. Within about 2 weeks, both front channels have burnt out after more than 10 years of such use. All other channels are still working perfectly. I didn't realise that speakers that were too big would destroy the amplifier. Now the problem with the Marantz NR1510: It only delivers 50 watts at 8 ohms and supposedly 75 watts at 6 ohms. I can't find any decent speakers for it! The speakers would have to be SMALLER. So a maximum of approx. 30 - 40 watts for 8 ohms (preferred) or approx. 50 watts for 6 ohms. Speakers that small are all RAMSCH. Cheap speakers with soldered speaker cables or active speaker boxes for PCs. Most decent hi-fi speakers only start at around 75 - 100 watts. Hence the question: WHICH SPEAKERS are you using with your Marantz? Are you aware that speakers that are too big will overload the amplifier and significantly reduce its lifespan? I want decent speakers that can be connected with banana plugs.

The cable I use is a simple 1-Channel RCA (Cinch) cable. It's of orange colour. It's normally delivered with the apparatus. It is the interconnection between the CD player (Marantz) and the NR1510. I'm very happy with that equipment. Only downside: the manual "Volume" knob on the amp is very hard to turn. I don't mind since I use the remote (IR).

I can confirm the 11 cm and the thing with the antennas! In addition, the antennas would still be rotatable, so that the receiver is only 11cm high despite the antennas...

Hello Reto. The 85 watts power refers to a resistor of 6 ohms. The 50 watts probably refers to 8 ohms or it is a mistake. In any case, the unit has enough power to drive all normal speakers without any problems. I am surprised myself at the ease with which it drives my Boston floorstanding speakers. A very good unit. Greetings from the Valais, Thomas.

Good day, You can connect your TV directly to the Soundbar and have a better sound than with the built-in speakers of your TV. If you connect a Blueray / DVD player or game console directly to the TV, the sound from these sources will also come out of the Soundbar. You would only need the AV receiver (Marantz) if you have speakers without a built-in amplifier. I don't see how AV receiver and soundbar together would make sense. Kind regards

You can, but you shouldn't, because 5.1 signals need all the speakers and Audyssey calibration systems won't work. In my opinion, it is better to buy a quality stereo unit like the Marantz NR1200, and activate "Stereo downsampling" as output on the source.
