Connection via USB is possible, Bluetooth is required for wireless operation. Works with the Xbox BT adapter as well as with all commercially available BT adapters.

As you can see on the Digitec website, this model is sold with or without a cable. It's a USB-C cable, but a very long one. A simple USB-C cable should suffice for updating.... (This has never happened before). The batteries do run down quickly, so it's better to buy rechargeable batteries if you play a lot.

Yes you can. I tried it out especially for you to play Minecraft on the iPad. However, the predecessor controller from the Xbox One also works, and is perhaps even cheaper.
