I have this cooler on my I5 8600k and have a maximum of 50 degrees in the stress test, since your processor is an I7 and these things like to get warm quickly, I would possibly buy a second fan that you can put on the other side of the cooler. But I can't recommend this cooler for over-clocking if you want to over-clock to 4.8Ghz. There are many forums like LinusTektipps where this question is answered. MFg
