Yes for DVD`s i bought it. for (Music-) CD`s it should go too. Because the most Players are compatible downwards
=> Blueray can Play DVD/CD
=> DVD can Play CD
If its not so, then its specially for this Product. And it would be anoing to me. (I can`t test, I have only Bluerays and DVD`s)

In principle, AVCHD should be able to be processed/played. It also depends on how you burn the DVD (video DVD).
