I don't know what the situation is with the Sunrisebox. The Panasonic device replaces the box from my cable provider (Quickline). I had the cable provider give me a CA module card instead of the box and inserted it into the slot provided. Everything works very well for me so far (and I don't need another device).
The recorder is fully DLNA (client and server) compatible, so everything should be possible.
The DMR-BCT750 can record DVDs as recording media, but it does not have a Mini-DV input for connecting the camera. This would have to be connected via the SCART connection.
